The name Thorn features a host of identifiers.
Charlton Heston's character in The Omega Man
was named Thorne. Drop the 'e' and you get
my own alter-ego as developed in the SCA
over a quarter-century ago, and as solidified
by arborly accolade in the land of New Canaan
in the year AD 1988. As a defiant sword holder
defending the rose, thorn's implication becomes
obvious. In my underground metal & myspace
'thornswrath' the absence of an apostrophe
blurs the line between the singular and plural
modes of thorn. This captures in balance
the moment of my solitary identification
with that of the whole collective of life
(as we know it). I am both my own
as well as nature's wrath. As lone soldier
for the trees I know where my fortune lies.
