FREEZINE & THE BEES

It's my birthday weekend, beginning tonight, Friday the 13th, 2011. The Sun is up and the birds are chirping. Most of the intruding sunbeams are blocked by our downrolled wooden blinds, collecting dust in the shadows of our living room. Except for the south facing windows. Their venetian eyelids are rolled up wide open, bringing an ambience into the room, by which I type this.

What I want for my forty-sixth birthday is pretty simple, really. I want freedom and sunshine and to feel the warm summer wind within sight of the tulips sprouting wildly in front of our house. I want to perform a successful inspection of our bee colony with my wife, and I want to fill the rear tire of my bicycle up with air, and take it for a ride into the city until the wind has scoured away every obligation except to be lost with nothing left but my freedom.

Spending this lovely Spring weekend with my wife and whichever loved ones happen to drop by is all I really want for my birthday.
